Raking Leaves

Raking Leaves is an independent art space and residency in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand — a city with one of Southeast Asia's most active independent art scenes. The residency hosts 2–4 international artists for 1–2 month stays in a traditional Thai house compound. Chiang Mai's extraordinary affordability (comfortable living on $500–800/month), its concentration of artist-run spaces, and its proximity to hill tribe communities and traditional craft villages make it an ideal base for extended artistic research.
