Terms of Use

1. What RMAR is

RMAR is a community directory of artist residencies. We provide a platform for artists to share reviews, discover open calls, and manage applications. We do not operate any residency programs ourselves.

2. Accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
• You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• One account per person. Don't create accounts to manipulate reviews.

3. Reviews & content

• Reviews must reflect your genuine experience at a residency you actually attended.
• Don't post fake reviews, spam, personal attacks, or content that violates our Community Guidelines.
• You retain ownership of your reviews but grant RMAR a license to display them on the platform.
• We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms or our guidelines.
• If you believe content on RMAR infringes your copyright, please contact us at kn@studiostudios.net with a description of the work, the URL of the infringing content, and your contact information.
• If your content is removed and you believe this was in error, you can request a review by emailing us at kn@studiostudios.net with the subject line "Content Appeal."

4. Subscriptions & payments

• Free accounts have full access to the directory and reviews.
• Saver ($4/mo or $35/yr) and Pro ($9/mo or $79/yr) tiers unlock additional features.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
• You can cancel any time from your account settings. Access continues through the end of your billing period.
• Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis — email us if you have an issue.
• Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. By purchasing a subscription, you also agree to Stripe's terms of service. RMAR is not responsible for payment processing errors on Stripe's end.

5. Residency listings

Listings are contributed by the community and by residency programs themselves. We do our best to keep information accurate, but RMAR does not guarantee the accuracy of any listing. Always verify details directly with the residency program before applying.

6. Applications

When you apply to a residency through RMAR (Pro feature), your application materials are shared with the residency program you're applying to. RMAR is a platform — we don't make admission decisions. Your artist profile and application data belong to you.

7. Programs & open calls

Residency programs can submit listings and post open calls. Programs are responsible for the accuracy of their listings and for conducting their own application review process fairly. Submitted residencies require admin approval before appearing publicly.

8. Prohibited uses

• Automated access, scraping, or harvesting of any RMAR content (residency listings, open calls, reviews, ratings, applications, articles, vibe spectra, or any other data displayed on the site) without our express written permission. This includes use of bots, crawlers, scrapers, headless browsers, or any other automated tool, and applies regardless of whether the access is for commercial, research, training, or other purposes.
• Using RMAR content — in whole or in part — to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or otherwise develop machine learning, large language, or generative AI models, without our prior written consent. This includes text and data mining (TDM) as defined under EU Directive 2019/790 and equivalent regimes; we expressly opt out of any general TDM permission. Reservation of rights under all applicable copyright, database, and sui generis database protections is hereby asserted.
• Republishing RMAR content elsewhere, framing the site, reverse-engineering the platform, or attempting to circumvent any access, rate-limiting, or anti-scraping measure.
• Attempting to manipulate reviews, ratings, or rankings.
• Impersonating another person or residency program.
• Using the platform to harass, threaten, or discriminate against anyone.
• Uploading malicious code or attempting to compromise the platform.

Search-engine crawlers (e.g. Googlebot, Bingbot) and assistive AI search agents that respect this policy and our robots.txt for the purpose of indexing public pages and surfacing direct citations to RMAR are permitted. Bulk extraction, model training, and dataset construction are not.

9. Data & AI

Reviews, ratings, and other user-generated content may be used in aggregate for platform analytics, editorial reporting, and product improvement. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not license RMAR content to third parties for AI model training without your consent.

All RMAR content — including the directory, reviews, ratings, articles, vibe spectra, and aggregated data — remains the property of RMAR and its contributing users. No license, express or implied, is granted to copy, scrape, store, license, or use this content for training or developing AI systems. Violations are subject to legal action and may result in IP blocks, account termination, and damages.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You can delete your account at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details on data deletion.

11. Limitation of liability

RMAR is provided "as is." We're a small, independent platform doing our best. We are not liable for decisions you make based on information found here, including residency applications, travel plans, or financial decisions. Use the platform at your own discretion.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Triple S Studios LLC, its owner, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of RMAR, your content, or your violation of these terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of New York County, New York.

14. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

15. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted with an updated date. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.
