Camargo Foundation
Cassis, Provence, France
No reviews yetAbout this Residency
Founded by American artist and philanthropist Jerome Hill, the Camargo Foundation sits on the edge of the Mediterranean Sea in the coastal village of Cassis in Provence. The 10-week research-based fellowship (September–November) awards 14 positions annually — 7 for artists and 7 for scholars and thinkers — with a €350/week stipend (€3,500 total) and covered round-trip travel from home to Cassis. The campus includes twelve furnished apartments, a reference library, open-air theater, artist studio with darkroom, and a composer's studio with piano. Artists prepare their own meals (fully equipped kitchens); this is a research-focused, not production-focused, residency. English proficiency required; basic French helpful.
