Mustarinda is an art and ecology residency in an old school building on the edge of Paljakka old-growth forest in eastern Finland. The program brings together artists and scientists to explore ecological questions through creative practice. The boreal forest, with its mosses, lichens, and untouched wetlands, is both subject and studio. In winter, temperatures drop to -35°C and the landscape transforms into a frozen laboratory for solitude and attention.
