HIAP (Helsinki International Artist Programme) runs one of the Nordic region's most internationally oriented residency programs, on the island of Suomenlinna — a UNESCO World Heritage sea fortress a 15-minute ferry ride from central Helsinki. The program hosts 15–20 international artists per year for 1–3 month stays in studios with spectacular Baltic Sea views. HIAP provides studio/apartment, a monthly grant, and connections to Helsinki's contemporary art institutions. A member of the Res Artis network.
