Despina

Despina is a residency program run by EAV Parque Lage — a legendary art school set in a 1920s mansion at the foot of Corcovado mountain in Rio de Janeiro. The program hosts 4–6 international artists for 3-month residencies, providing studio space, a monthly stipend, and access to EAV's courses and community. The setting — a palatial art school surrounded by Atlantic rainforest in one of the world's most visually dramatic cities — is unmatched. Strong emphasis on Latin American critical theory and socially engaged practice.
