The Palm Springs Artist Residency is a juried photography residency launched in 2026 by Palm Springs Preferred Small Hotels (PSPSH), the association of the city's boutique hotels, to build the first coordinated visual archive of Palm Springs' boutique hotel legacy. Selected artists receive complimentary lodging, a $250/week stipend, transportation reimbursement, attraction passes, mentorship from photographer Terry Hastings, and an end-of-season exhibition and sales showcase at the Palm Springs Cultural Center; one resident receives a $500 'Best of Residency' honorarium, and printing/framing/exhibition costs are covered by the organization. Traditional, documentary, architectural, fine art, experimental, multimedia, and AI-assisted practices are welcome.

Inaugural Photography Residency: Fall 2026 – Winter 2027
38d leftUp to 12 Southern California photographers will be selected for three residency sessions — November 8–21, 2026; December 6–19, 2026; January 18–30, 2027 — spending 1–2 weeks rotating among ~18 of Palm Springs' boutique member hotels and documenting them through their own creative lens. Residents receive complimentary lodging, a $250/week stipend, transportation reimbursement, attraction passes, and mentorship from photographer Terry Hastings, with an end-of-season exhibition and sales showcase at the Palm Springs Cultural Center (one resident receives a $500 'Best of Residency' honorarium). Eligibility: photographers 18+ residing in San Bernardino, Riverside, Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, Imperial, San Diego, or Ventura counties; Coachella Valley applicants prioritized. Traditional, documentary, architectural, fine art, experimental, multimedia, and AI-assisted practices welcome; own equipment and a W-9 required.
