Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, Penland has been a center for craft education since 1929. The Penland residency program offers 3-year terms for emerging and mid-career artists working in craft media, providing private studio space, housing, a monthly stipend, and access to Penland's exceptional facilities and visiting artist community. Residents also teach and mentor workshop participants.

Penland's Core Fellowship is a 3-year residency for emerging craft artists. Fellows work in clay, glass, iron, metals, fibers, print, photography, or wood. Private studio, housing, meals, stipend, and access to all workshops.
